CHAN standout Lalaina Rafanomezantsoa joins Algerian side Paradou AC

Madagascar international midfielder Lalaina Rafanomezantsoa has completed a move to Algerian top-flight club Paradou AC.

The 27-year-old caught the eye of Paradou scouts during the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where Madagascar’s Barea impressed by finishing as tournament runners-up.

Previously playing for Andoharanofotsy Football Training Centre (CFFA), Lalaina will spend the season on loan after both clubs agreed on a one-year deal. According to 2424 Madagascar, CFFA president Henintsoa Rakotoarimanana confirmed that the deal was finalized on Sunday, August 31, just before the close of the transfer window.

Lalaina had been a standout performer at the 2024 CHAN, where he scored two goals and provided three assists, helping Madagascar reach the final before narrowly losing 3-2 to Morocco.

His strong form has also earned him a call-up to Madagascar’s senior national team, with head coach Corentin Martins including him in the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Zone qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Chad.
